institute’s guidelines
At the institute classes are strictly based on Iyengar Yoga; a quality standard for teaching and practicing yoga in all aspects.
In a child-friendly and informal environment, children between 7 and 14 years of age can learn and appreciate yoga the Iyengar way. The classes are playful, challenging, sportive and relaxing!
In a playful manner children learn to develop qualities like steadiness, strength, suppleness and balance. The asanas (postures) improve the gross and subtle motor system of a child, strengthen the muscular system, improve the overall posture of the body and enhance self-confidence. An important aspect of yoga practice is that it improves overall concentration and focus, which enables the child to improve study results. But most rewarding is that children find it challenging and fun to do!
During the yoga classes various asanas are performed in a quick and smooth flow, so that children remain interested and focused. The selected asanas are extremely well designed to the imagination of the child, i.e. stand like a “warrior”” (Virabhadrasana), stand “downward facing dog” (Adho Mukha Svanasana) or stand still like a “tree” (Vrksasana).
