Senior Yoga Classes

The Iyengar Yoga Institute Amsterdam is pleased to announce yoga classes for seniors (55+)!

Stay mobile by joining this weekly course of Iyengar yoga classes specially designed for the maturing body. Using it’s own strength, the body will be challenged to work optimally to improve posture, circulation, muscle form and balance.

For all 55+ers regardless of your current fitness level! No prior yoga experience is necessary.
This course is also ideal for those who want to build up strength and fitness, especially after illness or medical injury*.

The 13-week introductory course will work on the overall fitness and mobility of the body, to alleviate common age-related complaints, and improve posture and balance. Props and aids will be used to make the poses more accessible for all body types.

Follow-up courses will be introduced later in the season.

The course is given by Ela Chauhan who is an experienced yoga coach, specialising in working with seniors and those requiring remedial instructions.

15:30 every Thursday (not during July and August)
Will start in January 2020, for now you can join the Level 1/2 class which Ela teaches as well.
